Publishing research data using Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) principles is becoming increasingly important particular when applying for funding. Application of the FAIR principles using machine-vision software, can enhance the ability to automatically find and use microscopy data, as well as improve data reuse and reproducibility. Our data types are not proprietary, which in turn enables more robust analysis, data mining and review of in-situ experiments by outside researchers, increasing productivity and ultimately elevating the field of electron microscopy.

Findable

All data is synchronized and indexed making it easy to sort, filter and analyze very large data sets.

Easily export data into common file formats to use with other tools. Export data in csv, jpg, png, avi, mp4, tif and others. All images are saved as lossless png files.

All session and experimental history recorded, making comparing and duplicating results far more accurate and quantitative, even between different instruments

How do we implement FAIR?

AXON is a machine vision software platform with modular expansion for the TEM. The software enables data collection and communication with the TEM and imaging systems, electron dose management, and large data set processing for reports and publication both inside and outside of the lab. AXON provides a solution to help science return to a high level of rigor and reproducibility, and greatly enhances the productivity of scientific communication and collaborations.

How does it work?

AXON Synchronicity is always communicating with the electron microscope, correcting for drift, collecting and indexing data and making the life of a microscopist easier. With AXON comes a free lab version of the software called AXON Studio. AXON provides a solution to help science return to a high level of rigor and reproducibility, and greatly enhances the productivity of scientific communication and collaborations.
